We are extending the deadline for applications for our 2017-18 Residency program to Jan 18th!
Real Time and Space (RTS) is comprised of 15 work-only artist studios and an artist residency program located in a former print shop in Oakland’s Chinatown. RTS aims to provide a productive and participatory workspace for our members and residents by fostering opportunities for dialog, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary interaction. Our members include a wide range of artists, writers, curators, and designers. RTS seeks to facilitate the exchange of ideas within and beyond the Bay Area artistic community through our residency program.
This open call is for our 2017-2018 residency program. All residencies are one and a half months long. Residents receive a studio for the duration of their residency and an $800 stipend. Out of town residents receive an additional $800 in travel and housing support. The residency studio is 170 sq ft and the residency includes access to a communal woodshop. RTS is centrally located near BART and downtown Oakland.
Residents are asked to commit 15hrs a week to the residency. Residents are asked to give a public artist talk and make a document in an edition of 7 for the RTS archive.
